Reddit, people are getting in trouble with my school for saying things about it on Twitter. What do you think?
Today, all the people in my school who tweet received a cease-and-desist letter from my school on their lockers. Apparently our principal and assistant principal had discovered twitter, and were reading some kid's tweets. Now, us being high schoolers, most of these tweets were us bitching about high school, teachers, assemblies, bad chapels, etc. They are VERY angry about us making a "school talk" twitter account about our school to forward our tweets to. Anyone following this or having this specific "school talk" twitter account follow them got this letter and their parents are going to get an e-mail from the school "in the near future."
I'd like to clarify, the things said on twitter by us are pretty much the same things said on Facebook, in the school hallways, in class, etc. Theres nothing different about the tone of our tweets.
TL;DR: School is angry about us tweeting about the school.
Reddit, what do you think? How should we respond to this?
EDIT: I'd like to clarify that I am not responsible for creating the "school talk" twitter. I didn't moderate, or claim ownership of it in any way. I was smerely following/followed by it.
EDIT #2: Thanks for all your responses. I talked it over with my parents, and they both rolled their eyes and sighed. My Mom (who is on schoolboard) couldn't believe they were making this big of a deal out of it. I'm in the clear, I'm glad I have cool parents.
