By Request, IAMA designer who has insight into the Textbook industry, AMA.

Hello Reddit,

There seemed to be some interest about an AMA from someone who has worked in the Textbook industry after I posted a comment about changes between different editions in this thread.

Some quick background. I have done freelance work for a large publisher on a number of textbook, workbooks, and problem sets. The projects were mostly for Accounting and Managerial texts, and I primarily did pagination and layout design.

I don't expect to generate a mountain-slide of interest with this AMA, just figured I would answer any questions the few interested parties might have.

Disclaimer: No identifying information will be given about myself or the companies involved.

In addition, I currently work in marketing, primarily designing emails and newsletters for a few large computer companies, if you have any questions about that.

edit: I am out for the night, leave any questions/comments and I will get to them tomorrow.
