Format
The format will be approximately the same as the 52-week cooking challenge. There will be a Master Thread that is updated each week to display the themes for the following 4 weeks (to give you time to prepare). I'm working out the final schedule based on people's comments in the theme thread (trying to get good variety and keep it fun)
Each Monday I'll "introduce" the theme of the week, which may include providing useful links about ingredient purchasing and preparation or links to example recipes. Then within that Introduction thread I would love for people to comment with any other useful information or questions.
You then have that week to prepare 1 or more items according to the week's theme. Make anything! and take pretty pictures to share (great chance to work on your food photography skills ;) When sharing pictures and recipes in the subreddit please title them with the week number to help keep things organized. Examples: Week 1: cupcakes - vanilla chai cupcakes with eggnog frosting, Week 2: rainbow - rainbow cookies.
The point of this to encourage people to bake more, so definitely adapt the themes to work for you (e.g. if you want to make cupcakes each week or need to use a different type of pan)
If you're new to baking try to master the basics. If you're an expert try to challenge yourself (alter recipes, try harder recipes or difficult decoration techniques, etc.)
Also it's probably a good idea to find a steady source of people to get to eat the baked goods ;) I bring stuff into my lab once a week usually and everyone loves it.
