After so much talk about hipsters, I have a question for the users of reddit
I see roughly 3,000x more derision of hipster modes of dress, ways of acting, music, and catchphrases than I do actual hipsters saying actual things about how they're better than people who don't like their style. Even being friends with a great many people that, by all means, fit the definition of "hipster" has led me to think that since it's uncool to say that one is a hipster (even if it's true) they talk about it far less than anyone else does. I feel like with the amount of anti-hipster talk that goes on around this site, entire posts just read as droves of people saying, in so many words, "what, hipsters, you think you're better than me? FUCK YOU". Why does anybody care at all? Has everyone had horrible experiences with hipsters and I'm just lucky enough to have escaped their intolerable sense of self worth? I'd like to hear feedback.
