For those of you dog owners that take your dog to work - I am wondering what job/career you have?
I really want a dog, but more so, I want to be a responsible pet owner. I already have a cat (who loves dogs and acts like one - crate trained and everything!) but I am worried about once I get out of university. Coming home in between classes is not a big deal, but a lot of work in the real world requires that you be there during a set schedule. I would feel terrible if I got a dog and it was miserable for most of the day because I was unable to have a lunch break (I would be miserable as well, I have worked enough 13 hour days to know I need a more lenient schedule). I would even feel guilty working 9-5 while pooch stayed at home during that time, even with playtime outside during lunch breaks. Cat is entertaining for a pup, but dogs need to play outside, too!
So I am wondering, what kinds of jobs do you guys have that allow doggie friends to tag along? Are most self-employed? Do you work from home, therefore 'take your dog to work'? I have been wondering what cool things people do that allow them to bring pets to work.
