Convenience fee: $78.45 ಠ_ಠ

Paid my tuition online today - $3138 now, thanks to so may straight semesters of increases. Then they slap with me a nearly $80 "convenience fee." WTF is that crap!? I know a lot of places charge a little extra for paying online, but that is the high goddamn fee I've ever seen! Is it really easier for me to go in person and hand them a check, which they then have to send off to get verified and deposited? Or do they charge you some sort of check handling fee when you go in person?
