A quick note about retrieving information and Santa's getting in touch

Hey guys, hope the exchange is going swimmingly for you all!

A quick note though based on a lot of posts and questions regarding information retrieval.

First of all: How to check to see if you have been retrieved

1. Go to "exchanges" in the top right menu of RedditGifts

2. This will take you to your status page. Under the grey box, it will say "Retrieved..." and a time or date. This is when your Santa last looked at your info.

Secondly: Stop worrying about when you were last retrieved!!!!

A lot of you seem to be posting about not having been retrieved in x amount of days. Stop it! A lot of people don't retrieve again until they plan to ship; which is fair enough. If they don't feel they need to look at your info again, so be it. It has happened with the past two exchanges I've taken part in. This is no cause for concern.

Third: When the time of when you were retrieved updates

This is when your Santa last looked at your info. This updates every time they do this. So no, you haven't been rematched and there isn't anything odd happening to your Santa or account.

Lastly: It isn't obligatory for your Santa to message you

It's completely up to each Santa if they feel they want to message their giftee. We do not force people to do this. Most of the time, people get messages with questions their Santa's have about them. If you don't get a message, it isn't because they don't care; it's because they don't need any more information! If you have been retrieved, that's a very good sign that yes, your Santa is alive and does care.
