Here is why a lot of people find /r/Atheism posts annoying, and reading this might make it less so
The problem people have with Atheism posts isn't that you are poignant. It isn't that you are aggressive about your beliefs, or vocal about them. The problem with a lot of r/atheism posts, and people, is that they are condescending. Most Redditors are on your side, but at the same time, most Redditors also find you annoying, because most people have grown beyond life as a distinction of spiritual/religious beliefs. Most Redditors realize that everybody has a different belief, and pissing on other people is exactly what they hate about the religious ("You're going to hell, blah blah blah..." vs "The Bible is stupid and makes no sense").
The fact of the matter is, that Atheists are probably no more convincing than the average cultist, so why not shut the fuck up when other people are trying to do their thing.
This is mostly in response to the atheist telling his mom she couldn't pray at dinner, but it relates to all of the reasons people are annoyed by seeing so many atheist posts nowadays. (Hint: the reason they make front page, is because people who disagree with you, don't find the need to downvote you.)
I'm basically atheist myself, I just don't find the need to argue with people who have different beliefs than my own, please have the same courtesy for others.
