2X, You gave me the courage to confront my terrible roommate!

A little bit back I posted this comment: http://www.reddit.com/r/TwoXChromosomes/comments/mkw43/my_roommate_rage/c31s1wp

2X helped me realize that I was being passive and non-confrontational and getting taken advantage of because of it.

I'm not going to make a list of her grievances, or her problems with me. Our issues as roommates had gotten to the point that is was ruining our friendship. I was getting the silent treatment and her blatant animosity was getting to be too much. I told her today that one of us had to move out. She FREAKED.

Later we talked again, this time she was calmer. She didn't want to move out and she didn't want me to move out. She also wanted to just talk and have me listen. She had a lot more complaints about me than I thought possible (weirdest one: I act like her mother, whom I don't even know and she rarely talks about). The conversation ended with me restating that if neither of us liked living with the other, one should move out. If she didn't want to, then she should find a roommate that she can stand more than me. Preferably she would move, because I have a roommate lined up from when she had wanted to move out earlier. Plus, she doesn't even like our apartment. She got upset again and said I have to leave and find a ******* replacement.

She texted later saying she'd move out, but until then I have to stay out of her way, never talk to her again, etc or she'll change her mind.

I don't mind avoiding her, and I can't really mourn the loss of a friend because honestly, a real friend would have never taken advantage of me like she did, make me feel bad about myself as she did multiple times, or hold illogical grudges against me.

tl; dr So 2X, thanks for helping me realize, though perhaps unintentionally, that I had a toxic friend and roommate and that I didn't have to put up with it.
