r/Gaming suggestion: “Tagging” games that appear in posts

A common complaint around here is that the front page is constantly flooded with posts about games that may not be relevant to a particular gamer. What I’m suggesting we do is somehow make a “tagging” system within this sub reddit so we can come up with a way to hide (or show more) posts about a particular game.

It could kind of go like this: When you submit a link, you open up an (optional) drop down menu of the most popular games and you “check off” what games the link you are submitting is associated with. If the game you are posting about is not on the list, you could add it. It may also work for groups of games like “Steam” or “PS3” or “pokemon franchise”

In your preferences, you can choose what games show up or don’t show up in your new customized r/Gaming.

Yes, I realize this is basically creating subreddits within a subreddit (yo dawg), but I believe if done properly, it could create huge improvements to r/Gaming.
