SO my financial management prof. almost became a Prime minister this week :O
He just send my class this email:

you will read this in tomorrow G&M / Post / Star (or online now)...
On Mon eve, Rome time, I was appointed junior minister of Ag for the Italian Govt. There is significant confusion on this matter, you can read it on the media. It may or may not go thru. The fact is that the Minister and industry are solidly behind my appointment.
I wanted you to hear this from me, as I do care for my students, in a sense we at Guelph work as a large family. We are the university that cares. And I really feel for you.
And of course I bored you lots with my emphasis on global issues & perspectives, brought back into the classroom, as a key dimension of your learning experience. I am sure you wondered about that. Now you know that I was serious about it. It is my international reputation that got me this recognition.
So now you heard it directly from your prof of financial management, the possible next undersecretary of Ag in Italy. And they had to come to Canada, to Guelph, Canada's food university, to get the right person...
