Lady travelers of TwoX, I need your help! (please)

My friend and I have booked a 7 week trip to Europe this coming May and June. I have never done anything like this before, and was hoping that those of you who have could impart some wisdom. My goal is to travel with as little as possible.

What kinds of things did you take? What couldn't you live without while you were gone? What would you definitely not take with you i you had to do it over again?

Also, my mom wants ideas for small things she can get me for my Christmas stocking, so any kind of travel-related goodies you ladies can recommend would be much appreciated.
