Tried to do something sweet for my girlfriend and now we're fighting....I'm confused did I mess up?

Me: 28 Her: 22

Lately money has been tight with my fiancé and me. One of our dogs needed surgery, trying to pay off some debt, now Christmas round the corner, and just regular bills. I usually make dinner for us, but I thought I would do something a little different for her when she comes home from work. I made dinner as usual, made dessert, turned off the light and lit some candles in the kitchen, living room, and dining room to set the mood, had wine set out for us.

I meet her outside as she is coming in with some grocery bags. First thing as she walks in says “you got it all dark in here” and I told her I wanted to do something special because money has been tight. She says “well thanks boo” walks in blows out the candle I had on the kitchen counter (yet to see the dining room setup) and pushes it out of the way to put the grocery bags down. Blows out the other candles in kitchen and tells me “boo you’re not suppose to light these candles they’re for show” (never mind I bought them for months ago for another dinner I did, but she has repurposed them apparently). I brush it off. She says did you walk the dog? I tell her no and she tells me you’re supposed to walk the dog because the doctor said so (she had leg surgery). It’s only 7 and I can walk her after dinner I tell her. She says no I’m already up and takes the dog for a walk. She knows dinner is waiting and tried to do something sweet for her.

So here I am with a candle light dinner and she needs to walk the dog….really? I was hurt and felt she dismissed what I tried to do. She came back and saw that I already ate dinner and was about done with it. She mentions I didn’t wait and I told her she hurt my feelings and I didn’t appreciate what she did. She said “I’m not sorry because I didn’t do anything wrong. The dog needed walking and if you wanted to do something sweet for me you should’ve walked the dog. Dinner is not really important to me, walking the dog for physical therapy is.”

We went back and forth a bit more and I gave up and went to shower. So we’re not talking and I’m left hurt and feeling like I’m the bad guy. Am I over reacting, do I man up and just blow it off and make up?

TL;DR: Surprised my SO with a nice romantic dinner when she got home from work, she complained I didn't walk the dog and left to walk the dog as I sat at the dinner table. I felt like she dismissed my feelings of being hurt and she feels like she didn't do anything wrong.
