[HELP] My weight has been plaguing me my whole life. I'm sick and tired of it and I finally want to do something about it, and do it right. But I have some barriers to get through first...

First of all, no I'm not obese, no I'm not 200 lbs overweight. But I have had this weight on me all my life, and it constantly haunts me. Ever since I was about 9 years old I have been overweight... Not significantly, but enough to worry my parents, which in turn causes them to constantly pressure me. Both my mother and father's side of the family has had a history of diabetes, and my weight surplus has been a reason for them to worry - ever since I came back with high cholesterol and triglycerides, it has been a constant struggle with them for me to lose weight. I am constantly reminded that I am overweight at home, which makes me considerably insecure about my weight. I consider myself actually physically attractive, but when I look at my gut all of that goes away.

I am 5'6" and 185 lbs, and I just turned 18 only about a few days ago.

I feel like there's no reason to NOT lose weight. When I see people on r/LoseIt coming with breakthroughs such as losing something like 200 lbs I feel like my goal is nothing. I am only about 30-40 lbs overweight. I have access to a gym in my community, and my parents do their best to supplement my diet for my weight loss. Not only that, they have given me numerous incentives for me to do it - A few months ago they said they would give me their second car if only if I lost 15 lbs.

"So fmgugle4, everything is right there at your disposal. Go for it!" Now, this is the catch - I am an instant gratification junkie. Even though I eat healthy at home, I constantly cheat my diet... At school, I buy snacks. I take almost every chance I get to cheat my diet. I am sedentary. In my mind, eating that piece of chocolate is more rewarding than not and knowing I am losing weight. This is one reason I think I am not coming through... But maybe it goes deeper than that...

Reddit, I will be forever grateful if you would help me LoseIt. Give me tips to break through, workout routines, diet guides, anything. This is the time to finally do it right.

TL,DR: My weight has been with me my whole life and there is no reason to not lose it, but something is keeping me from losing it... Sorry for the wall of text, but I needed to get all of this out. I will answer any questions that will help anybody gain more insight into this situation in order to help...
