Champion factions list for 5v5 and 3v3 battles.

This is a response to a previous post I read here on the leagueoflegends sub.

Essentially the concept was to have members of the factions pit off against one another, in an alternate champion selection style. After reading how complex this would be and that Riot wouldn't implement this due to the complexity, I took the liberty of checking each champion's background and their personal wiki.

Behold ! I have complied a list of factions with each champion listed that fits both in the lore as either a "City-State Champion" or as a supporter. The way this would work is you could use the "Greater Factions" for 5v5 or 3v3 custom fights with the optional selection of 1 unaffiliated champion per team. The "Lesser Factions" could be tweaked to fit however you wish, but are designed to be used for 3v3 only, with the optional selection of an unaffiliated champion.

So, here is the list...

EDIT: I have been recieving alot of feedback based on why I placed champions in certain categories and others not in certain categories. I based my decisions on the champions long term effect, or role in a certain area. With this being stated I also based it mainly on positive, or in some cases (as with Kassadin) large lore setting background that I could not ignore. Feel free to change accordingly if you so desire to fit your needs, this is a well put together guide, but in no means is it by any stretch balanced.
