So being an atheist I naturally enjoy this subreddit, but while taking a piss a few minutes ago my brain formulated a question I thought would be best directed here.
How many of you have been married in a church? Did you get married in a church to appease your spouse, their family, or your family? Any interesting stories come from it?
I've always thought that I would eventually get married in a church because it is traditional. My parents are believers, but far from fundamentalists. They're casual Catholics as I like to call them. My grandparents however attend mass every week, etc. I think, regardless of my atheism or my partner's atheism (or lack thereof) I would probably get married in a church just to appease the majority of my family. It's not like I give a shit where I get married. Thoughts?
