We're moving up to the big leagues now!

So, first of all I'd like to apologize for the state of the server as it has been today. It really wasn't ever designed to withstand the load of all these people, but that's not really an excuse.

As some of you know, but many may not, last month we had over 1200 unique players connect to the server, and today alone we had over 500. The server was being hit constantly by more requests than it could handle. As such, it did the best it could, but in the end bent under the stress.

A lot of people have pointed out that we should have upgraded the hardware, and I agree that should have happened. However, a lot of the money that we raised last month got caught up in an issue with paypal, which to my knowledge hasn't been resolved. So for this month we were kind of out of luck in the money department, and had to make do with what we had.

However, in the past 24 hours, you all have raised a staggering $250!!!! So, the time of laggy servers is over, and we're upgrading ladies and gentlemen. So we put in an order for a new server, which should be ready by tomorrow. Here's the specs: 16GB RAM, Quad core 3.32 Ghz CPU, 500GB RAID-1 HDD. We should easily be able to host 100+ players on this baby.

So, here's the game plan. The new server should be available to us by tomorrow at 5PM at the latest. As soon as we get access to the server, we'll get it set up for hcsmp. The server will be off till then while we get everything ready.

We will try to import the data as is, however with the rate of crashes, the data is starting to get corrupted, so it's possible it might not be salvageable. If we can import it over, gameplay will start where it left off, and you should have all your stuff.

In the case that we can't salvage the data, we will start the map over with everyone starting fresh. I realize that would suck, but hey, at least it's only a day's worth of stuff, right?

No matter the circumstances, bans will be reset. There were a lot of deaths due to lag, and rather than try to sort them out, we're going to give everyone a freebie. If you donated in order to get unbanned, your donor status will still be kept, and you will get one free respawn. PM a mod if you want to use it.

Thanks for understanding, and I'm looking forward to a fantastic new month with an awesome new server :D

Let me know if you have any questions!
