Would it be possible to build something that could drill through lava?

Is there any material that could feasibly be formed into a drill which could then bore through lava?

Edit: I know there would have to be a coolant system. I'm more curious if this would be a feasible project in the modern era (say under 1 billion or so) or would it simply be science fiction?
