DAE get annoyed when authors "fast forward" at some point in a book?

I'm referring specifically to passages like "four months later" or "after a month of being in such and such a situation." Unfortunately I can't recall any recent well-known titles to cite an example, but it seems fairly common as a means to rush the plot along without providing any meaningful details that would otherwise make the time passed interesting.
