r/politics, what do you think about the effectiveness of the two-party system?
I just had a rather interesting discussion about the two-party system with my father and I wanted to know what politics thought.
Personally, I think the effectiveness of the two-party system is flawed because of the amount of people who are not getting their opinion correctly represented. Although I cannot come up with a solution that would sufficiently change this, I believe that something needs to be done so that the consistent 40% of people that are "moderate" actually get their mind out. With the ridiculously large influence that the media has on the general public during these times, it would be difficult to move from this two party system because of the ideology of the television stations, newspapers, and radio stations.
