Dear /r/Norway, Is it true that Norway has harsh laws against herbal supplements?
I take a lot of herbal supplements, mostly from foods or herbs that have been in the human diet for thousands of years.
Examples: Green tea extract turmeric extract cinnamon extract
a lot of the extracts I take are more practical than trying to eat the enough food to match the active ingredients. In some instances like green tea containing lots of caffeine and fluoride and cinnamon having a compound toxic to the kidneys unless removed in the extraction process, it is safer to take them in supplement form.
I also take some other pharmaceuticals like melatonin, coq10, and a mutivitamin.
I am told that Norway has very harsh laws against herbal supplements and they are treated as prescription medicine and require a doctors approval to even import them legally.
Is this true, and if so how hard is it to find a sympathetic doctor who would allow you to import herbal supplements.
