Very Strict Christian Parents
Ok. So I have been raised in a fairly strict Fundamentalist Christian home for 17 years. I don't know if I can take it much more. Here are some of their beliefs:
-
Gays choose to be gay and will go to hell if they do not repent of their sins.
-
Halloween is a evil holiday, and they have not ever allowed me to celebrate with costumes etc. They don't put any candy out for trick and treaters or anything.
-
Will not let me go to any scary movies, "You don't want to let those evil forces into your heart, the eyes are the gateway to the soul." -If I go to one, I'm grounded.
-
My mother would burn my Pokemon cards when I was young, she said they were evil and would let demons in.
-
Was reading Harry Potter a few years ago, they took it away and grounded me, But somehow Lord of The Rings is okay..? They have no problem with those.
So basically those are some of the examples. I would say that I am still Christian but I just can't take this any more. Any tips guys?
