Indoor vs. outdoor oxygen levels

My roommate believes that it is important to open windows to make sure there is enough oxygen indoors, especially for people who smoke cigarettes or who have diminished lung function.

I really doubt this but have no way to prove that there is correlation between oxygen levels and wether the window is open or shut. What are some talking points I can use to convince him that this is not a required precaution?
