Does moving to a city from a suburban area help you establish a better life, or do you just fall back in your ways? (a Disenchanted Young Professional)

As a Disenchanted Young Professional, I pretty much don't know anyone in the area and have been alone for a while. I've always wanted to live in a city or urban area, but does that help anything? I'm afraid that I'll just fall back to my old ways of not talking to anyone and not being outgoing.
