Request: An #OWS checkin app for mobile phones. Check-in when at an event with GPS coords, check-in to support an event without GPS coords

We need an app that allows anyone who attends an #OWS event to register that they are there, as well as allow others to register their support for the event.

The app should not capture any user data other than a check-in with a GPS coord within a given range of the events location.

The supporters option would allow people to register their support for the event when their device is not within the GPS range.

This will allow us to see how many folks are actually attending and supporting.

What other features should this app have?

  • Allow media to check-in and provide a link to their stream/blog/site
  • Allow aide services to check-in and provide their exact GPS coords
  • Allow reporting of events/actions of undesirable activities (gassings, pepper sprays, vandalism, violence etc) with GPS coords and a dot shown on the map
  • Support for kettle alerts
  • Panic button to call for immediate assistance at location and autonotification of [list of contacts]
  • The service should tweet the total # of participants of the event to various # on twitter at regular intervals
  • Photostream, in a later phase
  • Directory and schedule of events

What other features should an app like this include? Any #OWS want to contribute to this being built?

Dammit Jim, I'm a designer and project manager - not a developer.
