I needed to share this.
This may not be the exact place to post this, but I really needed to share.
I'm recently new, as in the last few months, to reddit. My husband is on here ALL the time, so I figured I would check it out and a few weeks ago stumbled upon xxfitness. I am an over weight Mom of 2 and over the last few years, after having my first child, tried to get back into shape. I always stopped trying a few weeks in. You know... A lot of talk, but little action. In October I put my foot down and started, slowly, to change thing around. By Halloween, I became a member of LoseIt.com which was recommended by my aunt. It's a website to help keep track of calories in/out. I have happily lost, and kept off, 7 lbs. I would work out when I could, at home. I have DVD's, yoga mat, balance ball, 8lb hand weights, 2 kids... Whatever. This week I put my foot down again and set a goal; 20 lbs by New Years. I'm pretty sure I can do it. A friend of mine recently started going to a gym. Her employer pays for management to have memberships. She's incredibly self-conscious and asks that I go with her a few times a week (yay for free passes to the gym!). We went today and it was amazing... exhilarating... Beginning to end I was ready. When I was doing my last 20 minutes on the elliptical I was... at peace? Lady Antebellum's "Kiss Goodnight" came on the gym radio and I was mouthing the words, my heart rate slowed way down, but my pace never faltered. Like I was born for it. I'm still jazzed up about it!
Thanks for listening!!
TL;DR - Mom looking to get in shape has exhilarating time at the gym. Best. Workout. Ever.
