Minimalists, help me get rid of my television

I been getting rid of a lot of my stuff, and now I'm taking on a battle I have avoided for a while: Getting rid of my television.

I rarely watch it, but since i live alone and work from home, its very often on, providing some background noise and the occasional 5 minutes of entertainment. Its pretty much my colleague.

For actually watching entertainment and news, I use the internet.

I have unplugged it and put it in a corner. Good first step, but I need help to keep it unplugged. For other hard items I found inspiration here in this subreddit + different blog articles, both practical advice and examples of improved ways of thinking. Anyone got some stories, ideas or input that could help here?

Edit: Thank you for the good feedback all. Appreciated! I'm 50+ hours in and both the spiritual and practical advice have helped. I visit here whenever I feel like packing the TV out, so rest assured your posts have done their job. :D

I'll be returning here whenever the cravings sets in, so please add if you got something, even if you are late to the party.
