Has anyone's hedgehog done this before?

I've had my hedgehog for about 3 months now (he's almost 5 months old) and I've never seen him do this before. He's been self-anointing for the past half hour like crazy and he'll stop for a little bit and goes into a pose that looks like he's about to go potty, but he doesn't. He then curls up completely into a ball (without anything scaring him) and makes chirping noises for a few seconds and then stops. Does anyone know what the heck he's doing?

EDIT: My hedgehog is doing fine! He just had constipation, but nothing serious like an intestinal blockage. Thanks for everyone's concern and advice!
