Working with kids.

Background up front: I am a 23 year translesbian, hormones for a year.

I've been volunteering at an after-school daycare for a few weeks now, and thought I'd share my experience.

There's a couple dozen kids and a handful of staff. The kids range from about 4-12 years old, and the staff is all (I assume) cisfemale. One staff member commented on my height, but I think that she thinks I'm cis, and one kid also said something similar. Then I had two kids, I'd guess around 5y/o, separately ask if I was a boy or a girl, but they seemed to accept my definitive response.

The rest of the kids have said nothing, but I'm curious how they see me. Not from a trans perspective, just out of scientific interest. I know younger people tend to be both more observant of subtleties and more accepting of what they're told, but only two have spoken up.

I'm not really asking a question. I just felt like starting a discussion about kids as they relate to us.
