IAMA former plaintiff in a 1st Amendment case AMAA

I previously attended a community college (and have since transferred to a 4-year - I graduate in spring) where prayers were included in many public events including graduation, board meetings and scholarship ceremonies. Attendance was mandatory for some people and it was a state school, therefor the case was raised as state endorsement of religion. The prayers were generally judeo-christian in nature but there were were also a few incidents at these events where more explicitly Christian statements were made. I was one of a few student plaintiffs, who, along with several faculty members, got pro-bono legal representation from a non-profit and attempted to sue the school. We were trying to sue to stop the prayer practice and for $1 (not a massive windfall or anything). We ended up settling out of court after incredibly long and stressful negotiations when it became apparent that if we lost, the organization would not be able to keep representing us on appeals. AMAA

Note: for a laundry list of reasons, I won't be asking any questions specifically related to where this case was or who I am - I'd like to remain anonymous and didn't pay enough attention to the fine print to know what specifics I might be barred from releasing. Mods can PM me for details to verify.
