[TOMT- video] Old black and white cartoon

I'm looking for an old black and white cartoon (like around Betty Boop's time) that I used to watch when I was really young. I only remember a few scenes but there was a narrator that was describing a city I suppose? There was a scene with giant logs arriving on a conveyor belt and being whittled down to toothpicks. And another one of an ostrich (?) that was walking unevenly with one foot on the sidewalk and one on the road so he ties one leg into a knot to level himself. Haha this is so vague but it would be amazing if someone knew what I was talking about!
