Drivers and Gunners in Main Battle Tanks... Who else has issue with the way this is being handled?

From what I've heard, the driver will have control over the main gun of the tank. This doesn't seem/feel right to me. I want to be able to focus on driving and watching where I am going in order to maximize my tanks life. I am hoping there is going to be a way to forfeit the control of the main gun so that i can just drive. Anyone else feel similarly?
