I'm looking for thoughts on an affordable bottle of Scotch I saw: Macgavin's (Highland) for about USD $25
Title says it all, gents. I enjoy good (and sometimes bargain) whiskey. Admittedly I enjoy bourbon as much as Scotch. Aside from Maker's, Knob Creek, and Baysil Haden's I really like Oban and Talisker -- among, well let's face it, many others.
So, I always have 2-3 bottles around in the USD $40-70 range, but I like to have something less expensive and I'm always looking for it. Chivas is sort of the goto blended Scotch in this department for right now. I'm pretty new so hold back your snobbery or hate, if at all possible, should I have desecrated some sacred whiskey lover's oath.
Cheers!
EDIT0: Quick update. I've opened the bottle and had my first taste. It's, well, alright. But I'm kind of new to Scotch (a bourbon drinker) and I'm not sure what I'm looking for with this. Of the Scotch I've enjoyed this reminds me most of Glenmorangie 12. Almost sweet, which you'd think I'd like as a bourbon fan, but I'm not sure. Still like the price and I've seen it some places online for less than USD $19 I'd still like to hear your thoughts.
