My only complaint with this game

Is the stupid bug where if you die at the same time as a nonrespawnable enemey, any items dropped are gone and the enemey stays dead. This has happened to me twice where I've been killed by a Mimic as I land the killing blow (playing a glass cannon sorceror).

The first time was in Anor Lando and the wiki tells me all I missed was a silver coon. The second time was near the beginning of the Dike's Archives. Can anyone tell me what I missed so I can express appropriate amounts of rage? Thanks.
