My friend's father recently died

Today, my friend's father passed away. We are great friends, and her father was a great man. He was a very upbeat individual, and had a smile that lit up a room. He was always enthusiastic about life and his daughters.

As she is the captain of our school's fencing team, the team was trying to think of something we could to do show our support. We are planning to attend his funeral, dedicate the season to him, and wear a patch on our uniforms to remember him. Now I pose the question to you Reddit. Can you think of any ways to help her through this difficult time?
