Weird bug with Vilkas

I've finished the Companions questlines, but whenever I try to talk to Vilkas it just makes a little 'click' and I can't talk to him. Sometimes, I can hit him enough to start fighting me, and then hit a guard and sheath really quick and then he will talk to me once saying "You fight well brother" and it's good for that one time only. Then, it's back to him not being able to be selected (including pickpocketing, etc.).

I don't know what is going on, and I've taken a few suggestions from different bugs I've seen and I traveled to every city and paid up any fines that I had (including places I've never been to before), but it still doesn't let me talk to him.

Anyone having this problem or heard of a fix?

(For what it's worth, this is vanilla Skyrim on the 360.)
