Monetizing on a small scale.
I'm looking to start a small non-profit making certain information available to a high risk group. It's a little delicate so I don't want to get into more detail than that until the launch.
I did want to ask about small scale monetization. I'm doing my due diligence, gauging interest and polling my sources. I can comfortably say that I have a market of at least a million people to at least look at my site and many could benefit. I expect an initial surge of traffic, a decline, and then a steady build as more and more people need help and end up in bad situations. I don't expect to make any kind of money off of this, nor do I want it, but I would like it if I could make enough to cover hosting ($80 or so each year). I thought I'd ask for advice from people who've been there.
Any advice? Ways to be subtle? Most effective monetization? Bad experiences I should hear about?
