Until I started to browse r/atheism. Some of the stories you people share make my skin crawl. It's incredibly crushing to know that such closed-minded people (your family members, neighbors, etc.) still exist in the world today. It makes me even more angry when those same people try to justify acts such as the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, and sometimes even the Holocaust because they thought it was "god's will."
Sorry to contribute to this being r/circlejerk, but you guys have opened my eyes to some of the real injustices being done in the name of religion. Family members disown their own kin because of religion. Sensible politicians cannot be elected to government because of their lack of faith. Modern religion often preaches things only for their own benefit and not to benefit the community at large.
Also, we ITT we post about experiences we have shared in which a faithful person was demonstrating blatant intolerance to an atheist.
