I think an ex-girlfriend wants to get back together with me.
I feel a little silly posting this as a grown man, but I don't have a lot of experience and would love the help.
I've only had one girlfriend in my life, we were together for over half of high-school. When it came to college we went to very distant places and the long-distance relationship very quickly flamed out because we were two very different and immature people. Four years and a bachelor's degree later, I've been very contentedly single and I think she's had a couple boyfriends.
I recently moved back home to work and get a post-bac teacher's certification. Weirdly she's also there in the same program. This past Sunday she calls me out of the blue and asks me to go to dinner with her. Apparently her boyfriend had recently broken up with her in part, she said, because she had never gotten over me. So we had dinner and I comforted her about it but since then we've been texting. She's dropping hints about seeing movies together and hanging out some more.
While we were together earlier we were both very immature and the relationship was fairly unhealthy. However we've both matured since then and are drastically different people. Would it be a good idea to try and tentatively date again to see if we could work or is this my four-year single self trying to get me into a relationship?
I'd really appreciate some other advice or another set of eyes on this problem.
