For a game with so many... things, it's a wonder why it didn't come with a tutorial.

Repairing, giving out ammo, medkits, spotting -- it's second-nature for some of us, but for the new guy? Sure, absolutely, there are button prompts on how to do some things, but the game does absolutely nothing to show the benefits. Having to discover that healing or resupplying actually gives you points is again, DUH, but the new guy? He'll never know until he does it by accident..

Why would DICE keep most of the game mechanics almost a secret? Why the hell do you want us to discover you can lock onto air targets with a javelin if it's painted with a SOFLAM? Wouldn't you want players to go out on the field armed with this knowledge instead of finding out practically by accident?

There are games where discovering mechanics is good for a game. In a multi-player game that depends on players understanding how stuff works, it's not good at all. All it does is create this artificial layer of depth, simply because the game barely tells you anything.

Seriously, a simple L4D-esque or BioShock-esque tutorial prompt that pops up until you do the actions and reap the benefits enough times would've done wonders. Also if the UI wasn't a thorough mess. That too.
