Gas pump keeps clicking off

Hey all. At first I thought it was the gas pump at fault. Now I realize it's got something to do with my car. When I fill it with gas, the gas keeps foaming up and causing the pump to do it's "auto shut off" thing. I've seen this once before with a car whose gas tank had been damaged in a small accident, but my car is accident free. Suggestions?
