Starting out, need some advice on equipment.

I've been playing with beats and the regular DJing mixes for a while now digitally. I have just been using Fruity Loops and a little MIDI keyboard that was lying around.

Now I want some equipment so I can do more live stuff and possibly gigs if I can improve my skills. Basically I need to be pointed in the right direction equipment and (possibly) program wise.

For controllers do I need a controller deck and a controller like the Novation or Trigger Finger? Excuse my amateurishness. Also if there is some other program really good for live performances please point it out to me.

As far as budget goes I'm in the up to $600 range if that helps. Thanks for anything you can contribute!
