My argument against the existence of Judeo-Christian God.
I'm working on this new argument so I thought I'd post it here and give r/atheism a chance to poke holes in the logic (or lack thereof). And improve the argument if it has merit.
First, God as defined by Judeo-Christians is:
- All-Powerful
- All-Knowing
- All-Loving
My argument is that by observing the Genesis story of Adam & Eve we can logically reason that God cannot have all three characteristics at the same time.
God tells Adam that if he eats from the tree of knowledge he will die. Adam did, and so we have the fall of man.
The problem:
God created a flawed creation despite being all-knowing and all-powerful.
If all-knowing God knew Adam would sin, why not create a better version of Adam. Someone more similar to Jesus or even Mary (whom Catholics and closely related denominations consider without sin). Did he simply not know that Adam would fall into temptation?
If he is all-powerful, God should be able to create a more perfect person while still maintaining free-will. The fact that he doesn't shows he is either incapable of a such a feat OR chooses not to.
So my question is which is it?
Is God not able to create a more perfect version of Adam & Eve?
Does God simply not know that his creation was flawed?
If he is all-knowing and all-powerful then it shows he is not very loving because he knowingly creates a flawed Human that will lead to the fall of all humanity.
Yes, this argument is based loosely on Epicurus.
Thoughts?
