I'm thinking of applying for an undergrad environmental science program, but I'm unsure if it's the thing for me...
I'm currently in high school, doing an extra year of grade 12 (Applied to university last year, but decided to stay back to boost grades and whatnot). Anyways. It's application time, and I'm considering the environmental science path. I've always done fairly well in science classes, and competed in a North American environmental science competition (called Envirothon, if anyone knows it) with a team of five this past summer and placed in the top two. I had never really considered a career involving the environment, but envirothon really got me thinking.
I've considered going into radio/television broadcasting as well, because I've always liked working with cameras and sound/recording equipment (I've made numerous short films and the like throughout high school), and I'm wondering if it'd be at all possible for me to somehow combine my interests in both fields later on down the road.
I suppose what I'm looking for, is a career that I'll enjoy, one that will let me use my mind and my love of science, but also give me the freedom to pursue other interests, like filmmaking.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.:)
(ALSO: I've also been looking into landscape architecture, what are some thoughts on that as a career choice?)
