Help me rewrite the closing sentence of my Personal Statement.

I'm in the process of applying to graduate school and my first application is due tomorrow. My Personal Statement is damn near perfect, but this last sentence is really grinding my gears:

"I consider it my personal responsibility to make those who offer me the opportunity to perform extraordinarily proud."

It's just a little awkward. How can I reword it without losing the meaning or punch?
