Amongst our survey of the universe, if we discovered a habitable planet (either yesterday or tomorrow), do you think it (would have been or would be) covered up?

Ok, I thought I was at a [4], but I'm pretty sure at this juncture I'm at a [7]. What if (bear with me) we have already discovered a planet that is thought to have possibly or does possibly contain (intelligent) life? We have discovered a total of 704 extrasolar planets so far. Do you think it is possible that we have, or will, discover an M-class planet (such as Earth)? If so, if such a thing were (or already were) to happen, do you think it will be (or has been) covered up by whoever discovered it? If you discovered a planet that you know for a fact harbored intelligent life, would you keep it a secret? why or why not?

EDIT: Wow, I really posted this. I'm putting myself at an [8] now.
