Today A Special Friend and I Learned Some Important Lessons About Friendship...
So this is a story/letter cowritten by myself and a special friend of mine, Drolfwulf. Yes, it's long and the style a little hard to read, but we're hoping a story of two bronies has enough to do with ponies to be here, if not, we understand and will remove it. We just really want to share, and MLPlounge seems kind of empty right now.
Dear Princess Celestia,
Today we learned an important lesson in friendship. Probably several actually.
Drolf: Today was a pretty weird day for us. I can't say for whom is was weirder, but we learned a few good lessons in friendship. I myself was feeling really emotional and depressed and kind of sappy. I started talking to my friend Kin about it and well, we started talking about things that helped each of us unload weights from our lives.
Kin: So I saw she was feeling down, and asked if she needed someone to talk to. She was reluctant at first but after I joked a little bit and made some on the spot metaphors she started to talk a little bit.
Drolf: I talked about how when I think about sad things I get really sad and start thinking about sad things. But then I start thinking about happy things in my life, and it makes me get really emotional and really sappy.
Kin: She said she wanted a hug, but there was no one close enough to give her one, so I promised that first thing when i get back in my hometown I would do when I saw her was make sure to give her a hug. I said everything i could to make her feel better.
Drolf: Which of course, made me more emotional because whenever my friends do that I can never actually believe they're doing that.
Kin: But regardless she was getting more emotional, i wouldn't stop. I knew I had to do something, say something.
Drolf: And he did make me feel better! But there was another thing that was on my mind too.
Kin: Regarding something that I had done a few days ago.
Drolf: The other day I had received an ask from an anon on Tumblr. Earlier that day I had reblogged this silly thing. Something about if you have a crush on me, anonymously tell me why. So, I got a message from an anon saying they had a crush on me. Up until earlier today I had absolutely no clue who it was...
Kin: I've been too much of a coward to say this in person, so seeing that pop up on her tumblr was a perfect opportunity to get it off my chest.
Drolf: ... until I had one of those moments when you're really emotional and not upset, but clearheaded and I thought I would mention it to my friend Kin. Much to my surprise, he confesses he's the one who sent me that message.
Kin: Saying it anonymously had not helped this feeling I'd had in my stomach for a while; if anything, it had made it worse. When she mentioned it to me I couldn't hold it in anymore. I had to confess. No matter what awkwardness or other consequences came of it (the reason i had never said it sooner, the fear that it would change something between us).
Drolf: But it didn't and it never will! This guy is one of my greatest friends in the world and he's an older brother to me. As long as I can still keep him as a friend, I'm happy! The fact that he had told me this actually made me feel happier too. Because I knew that it probably made him happier to have told me.
Kin: Regardless of whatever she was going to say back to that I knew I had to say it then. As long as we were able to still be friends was enough for me. And it definitely made her feel better, and lifted this weight I've had in my stomach for far too long a time.
Drolf: I think we're better friends knowing this. And I feel like I can talk to him about literally anything now.
Kin: And as I started our conversation off with, telling a friend something makes everything better; my own advice I should have followed a long time ago. But sometimes it takes a good friend to point it out for you.
Drolf: And sometimes it takes a good friend to help you realize that even if you think you have nothing to say, you usually always do. Even if it's just inanely giggling at them!
Your faithful students,
Kintexu2 and Drolfwulf
