Smithing Question

I'm trying to make myself a nice Daedric Longsword, and I decided to get a fortify smithing enchantment first. I had +15% smithing gloves, so I disenchanted them and applied +13% fortify smithing to gloves, armor, ring and an amulet. I proceeded straight to the Warmaiden's forge. When I equipped my fortify smithing gear, the damage output on the Daedric sword went from 72, with my set of Dragonbone armor equipped, to 60 with what was supposed to be +52% fortify smithing. Has anyone encountered this, or have any clues as to why this is happening?
