If you can help me fix my TV, you will be my hero for all time!

I'm trying to fix my TV myself, and needless to say I'm having problems. The power cord was broken, so I bought a new cord, stripped the wires, and attached the new cord to the old one. The TV turns on now, but the picture is blue and green (no red). The weird thing is, when the TV is on its side or upside down, the picture is normal. The only information I could find on blue and green pictures is a broken red drive in the CRT, but since its fine upside down, I don't think this is it. I don't know anything about TV's, so if you could help me, I will worship you for all time for your awesome electrical skills!

EDIT: Thanks everyone for your suggestions! You guys made trying to fix it myself sound dangerous, so I didn't do anything to it. I was planning on having it looked at over Christmas, but I randomly decided to turn it on today and discovered that it had fixed itself shrugs. I don't know what was wrong with it and I don't care anymore, but thanks again to everyone who tried to help! Yay for fixing things through inaction!
