Got to see Sonic Youth's second to last concert in (maybe, hopefully not) a long while.

First of all, props to the r/grunge community, i'm new here and i'm digging it. Remember to keep it about rocking hard and good vibes.

So, Sonic Youth came down to Chile to play a festival, even after Thurston and Kim had separated. They played a tight show man, they sounded great and definitely rocked out. The setlist was nice, they played A LOT of songs from The Eternal, but some nice oldies too (Teenage Riot, Sugar Kane, Brave Men Run in my family, Death Valley '69, Eric's Trip, Drunken butterfly, Kotton Krown, etc...). You really couldn't tell any awkwardness or bad vibes in between Kim and Thurston, they really sounded great. Stone Temple Pilots played as well, and they did pretty good. I dig most of their songs but I dunno, they sounded too polished perhaps, and I don't really dig their style at times, sounds to me like they're kinda ripping off other bands in the scene to obviously at times (Pearl Jam, Nirvana).

Overall i'm really sad Sonic Youth has called it quits for a while, they're a band that have really had an impact upon me, but oh well, hopefully love can prevail (what a cliché) and they can go back to rocking out! If anyone wants to share cool concert experiences from this year, feel free to.

Just wanted to share that with you guys, keep rockin' on.
